Neanderthals - Another Human Race?
by Comatose ingone are the days of scoffing at ape men.
it used to be you would have jws ridicule evidence of neanderthals existence.
now the wt can't deny they existed so they say, well they were just another race of man.

They conveniently forget to mention that Trinkous also believes they were around 24,500 years ago.

Got an interview
by LouBelle inas some of you know, i had no job last year, then finally got something in an industry that i know nothing about.
the environment and people haven't been the best, but i had to stick it out and hope that things would improve.
i have kept my eye and ears open for opportunities more in my field of expertise - which is print advertising.. i sent through my cv for a job i saw advertised in the newspaper for an advertising sales rep - applied and now i have an interview to go too tomorrow.. i've learnt not to get my hopes up - i am glad for the interview and i hope it goes well..

by EndofMysteries ini remember seeing a few years ago articles posted about the strange things published that is considered nonsense today.

AAWA has caused divisions and has lost the opportunity to be effective
by NoRegrets inhere's the thing,.
the whole aawa idea had noble ideas behind it, but the ship has sailed and the movement needs to go back to the drawing board.

AAWA believes that the Watchtower promotes and enforces a range of damaging and overly-invasive teachings and practices that cannot be briefly summarized. However, in order to drive its message home more effectively and forcefully, AAWA chooses to focus on five key areas in which the Society must introduce urgent reforms. These are (in no particular order):
- The shunning of relatives
- The mishandling of cases of child abuse
- The mishandling of cases of domestic abuse
- The stigmatization of higher education
- The ban on certain forms of treatment with blood
AAWA extends an open offer to the Governing Body of the Watch Tower Society (or their representatives) to meet with AAWA to discuss ways in which the organization can introduce much-needed reforms concerning the above core issues.
http://jwactivists.org/who-are-we/
Is changing a few policies that you don't like going to transform the Governing Body's sleazy little doomsday cult into something better?
A person's having no desire to 'reform' the Watchtower and/or it's Head Honchos, doesn't mean they are not against the Watchtower, or that they are not doing their bit.

You make it sound like the ex community has somehow suffered as a result. I doubt it will change much. Just because someone doesn't join that group doesn't mean they will stop doing what they were already doing.

Doesn't Matt. 24:45-47 prove that the Governing Body is NOT the "faithful and discreet slave"?
by matt2414 in"the timely spiritual food we receive is proof that jesus, the head of the congregation, is keeping his promise to feed us.
when giving the sign of his presence, jesus said that he would use the faithful and discreet slave to give food at the proper time to his domestics.

It's interesting watching the various reactions JWs have when suddenly finding themselves having to defend documented WT drivel that they denied existed a few seconds earlier. If I can get the 'stunned mullet' look, I feel I've done my job.

it seemed very doctrinally sound, christ centered and the big bonus i did not hear a word about money!
they did not pass a plate(i dont know if they do but today there was none).

I would have thought it would be better to found a church than find a church. That way, you own the collection plate.

See Geoffrey Jackson of the GB to give a talk in Australia this weekend. Sounded like just another boasting session from the comments.
